“There was no way to bribe their way through this situation in broad daylight and with all of the additional firepower. They would certainly be arrested, incarcerated, and executed. If they simply rammed the police vehicles and were successful in forcing their way through the checkpoints on both ends of the bridge, the Afghans would be in pursuit and the outcome would be only slightly better.”
