Reviews for The Salacia Project:

“Thanks Bill. Great read. Let me know when the next one comes out. Thanks Amazon. Make sure you keep this guy. He is the next Clive Cussler.” – Ron Baum @ amazon.com

“The Salacia Project took me on a dangerous trip, with detours to war zones with guns blazing and also to those internal war zones that some wounded keep fighting. Well done. Will look forward to more from Mr. Duncan.” – Charles Smith @ amazon.com

“Riveting, exiting, well written, and what a ride! Just when I thought I knew who the bad actors were, events revealed that there is truly ‘more to a book than its cover.’ Can’t wait for Book 2 in the Brystol Foundation Series.” – S. Carlson @ amazon.com

“When I read a spy, espionage story, I want to be impressed, surprised and lost in the story. Duncan’s got a three out of three here. Once I started the book, I didn’t want to stop reading it.

[As] soon as i turned several pages, another firefight or unexpected event took place. Also, I think Mr. Duncan knows more about clandestine tactics than one can just read upon. In the hands of the right visualizer, this would make a fast-paced movie. I confess, I was surprised by the author’s ‘red herring’ and didn’t catch the final surprise in the book until right on it at the end. It wouldn’t be fair to give this away, for Duncan has written a gripping story that not only surprises, and is gripping, but tantalizes my desire to read the next book–coming soon, by the way. It’s great that we have a new hot inheritor of she Ludlum and Clancy class.” – intellagent @ amazon.com

“I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The concept is clever, and the action pulls you in and makes you want to keep reading to see how it comes out. As an Engineer, I was fascinated by the technology, and having worked in Afghanistan, I found the local geography and locations accurate. It appears Mr. Duncan did on-site research for his book, which makes his writing much more compelling for me. Finally, I enjoyed the characters. The author writes with great psychological insight and compassion, a mark of great novelists, and unusual in an action novel. I’m looking forward to the next book in the series.” – SMF @ amazon.com

“Gripping story and wonderful imagination by this writer. Some romance without vulgarieties. So refreshing. Anxious for the next in the series.” – Ruth Dabrowski @ amazon.com

“Bill Duncan’s new page-turner, The Salacia Project is a fast-paced suspense novel that combines elements of thrillers, espionage, and drama to deliver gripping tale readers won’t be able to put down.

The non-stop action travels the globe from Washington, DC to Afghanistan, incorporating brave American champions, Afghan action, even Chinese double agents. All in a race to see who can be the first to utilize the advanced technology of the Salacia Project, a secret Defense Department project in which atoms are split to provide ships and submarines the ability to travel twice as fast in half the time and at half the cost.

American hero, Benjamin Dawson, makes his debut here. Instantly likeable, Dawson is all USA. He is tough, resourceful and impossible to keep down. Readers will cheer him on as he navigates seemingly impossible hurdles to protect national interests. Supporting characters, including former and current special military forces personnel, scientists– even a Middle Eastern humanitarian doctor– set the stage for readers to believe in Dawson and support his mission.

Bill Duncan’s writing ability is showcased by his attention to detail creating a timely tale which is detail specific and incorporates minute references to current global conditions taken right from today’s headlines. Readers will recognize allusions to 9-11, private security firms in the Middle East, even landmarks and businesses in Washington, DC. These references help enormously to shape a believable story that is currently relevant and to which readers can relate.

In the end, The Salacia Project is just a great read. The novel is quick and smart and promises its readers likeable characters to believe in and a great adventure to follow. The Salacia Project is not only timely and relevant, it is fun!” – Alexander Saenz @ goodreads.com
